PPL (Private Pilots License)

This licence enables you to fly a powered aircraft.

Night Rating

A night rating enables a pilot to fly after sunset and before sunrise. This is also a requirement for a Commercial Pilots Licence


  • 10 hours of instrument flight training
  • 10 hours of pre-flight briefing
  • A night navigation exam
  • Night rating test

Commercial Licence with Instrument Rating

This licence is a requirement to work as a Professional Pilot.

The applicant should:

  • Be not less than 18 years of age
  • Have a commercial pilot medical examination,  Class I
  • Hold a general certificate of competency in radiotelephony
  • Accumulate a minimum of 200 hours flight time, which should include:

- 100hrs  as Pilot in Command
- 20 hrs cross country flight time as Pilot in command
- 10 hrs night flying, including a night cross country as pilot in command
- 40 hrs of instrument flight time, of which 20hrs may be done on a approved flight simulator
- Have passed a commercial pilot’s license flight test by day and night, with an approved examiner
- Have passed the CAA theoretical examinations

Instructors Rating

This licence allows you to train students to become Private Pilots.

  • 60 hours of ground lectures
  • 2 theoretical exams
  • Practical ground and flight test
